Greenville County Library System has a graphic designer on staff, and it shows. Everywhere you look on Greenville’s web presence, though, you’ll see the touch of a graphic designer – from the Library’s logo,  to the icons on the webpage, to the Library newsletter. Ad/Lib reached out to that designer, Michelle Hannon, to showcase some of her work for the Library. What you see below is a subset of that work, some of the posters Michelle has produced to promote Greenville events and services.

For some of the work featured below, Michelle has provided Ad/Lib with some descriptive text.

The Greenville County Library System offers these tours and programs for groups of 10 or more. These tours are designed for grade school children have an adventure in the library while learning important skills and gaining insight into how a library works. This poster is displayed in all of our locations.

The Friends Shop

“This poster was created to encourage holiday shopping at our Friends Shop located inside our Main Library.”

Recipe for Financial Empowerment Poster

“This poster was created as part of a campaign to promote a series of programs supported by a grant from the FINRA Investor Education Foundation through Smart investing@your library, a partnership with the American Library Association. The grant spanned two years and supported our efforts in financial literacy which included the construction of a website that served as a portal for related community organizations and resources. The Financial Empowerment pie logo and color palette were designed to reach our target demographic of women ages 25-44 who were single heads of household. We altered the color palette as the grant progressed to make it more appealing to men, also.”

Bibliobop

A poster for a dance party (what else?)

DreamBigRead

“Dream Big Read was 2012’s Summer Reading theme chosen by the SC State Library. Although we used the text from this theme, we created our own artwork and publicity pieces. The featured owl is our Youth Services mascot, and we incorporated him into the ‘dream’ theme.”

You can see some of Michelle’s other design work on Behance and Flickr.
