“This flyer was used to promote a book giveaway, which I organized as part of our 2013-14 collection weeding. I figured that free books would be a big draw in and of themselves, but I wanted to have eye-catching and stylish posters nonetheless. The background image is a CC-BY licensed photo of our university in downtown Chicago. The font and layout are consistent with our university style guidelines, which I think are pretty stylish, but using different images and colors enabled these flyers to stand out. The event was a big success, and we were able to giveaway about 2/3 of the withdrawn books to members of our community.”
